• Jessica Jamieson, RMT

Jessica graduated from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy (VCMT) in 2019. Her active lifestyle and interest in overall health & wellness initially drew her towards the profession.

Jessica has a specific interest in treatment of conditions of the neck and jaw-helping ease symptoms related to TMJD (teeth clenching/grinding, headaches, tinnitus), migraines and whiplash. She has taken additional training to be certified in intra-oral massage and regularly sees patients for these issues.

She is also trained in instrument assisted soft-tissue mobilization (IASTM), where the use of metal tools is employed to break up scar tissue and adhesions that may be present between the layers of skin, muscle and fascia. These tools can be particularly helpful for post-surgery scar healing and promotion of increased range of motion.

During treatment, Jessica employs techniques such as Swedish massage, myofascial release, trigger point release, passive and patient-assisted stretching to help decrease pain, increase range of motion and improve overall relaxation.

Jessica believes that pain is a complex, multifaceted issue, and should be approached from all angles. Her philosophy is that patient involvement is key in decreasing chronic pain as well as treating acute injuries. She enjoys creating tailored homecare plans for each of her patients, using a variety of activities and exercises that can be accomplished in any setting and at any level of mobility or pain.
